She did WHAT?

Kennedy Cate is our sweet little girl who tends to follow the rules and likes to please her mommy and daddy, but she LOVES to make her brother laugh! Well, the other day I was out to dinner with my girlfriends from high school and I got a few texts from Chad...who was home with the kids. This is how it read...
Kennedy just pooped.
In the backyard.
In the grass.
Like a dog.
What??? My little Cate Cate? Weird things happen when dad's home with the kids by himself. The kids forget everything they have ever been taught...I'm just sayin...

Mama had a date tonight...

Check out my super cute date for tonight! How handsome is he??
C and I went to Borders for our date and we had so much fun. He picked out a Blue's Clues book and a Diego activity book for himself and "Llama Llama Red Pajama" for Kennedy. He's always thinking of her! After he picked out his books, we went over to the cafe for a little snack. The boy LOVES doughnuts and he was so excited that they had some! So, he picked a glazed doughnut and chocolate milk...the snack of champions!! Mama picked coffee and a muffin.
What a cutie! Carson, this was the best date I've had in a long time. I had so much fun with you. You are so very sweet and a joy to be around. You just fill my heart sweet boy. I love you more and more each day. You'll always be my sweet little sugar bear!

Lovin' this weather!

Today is a bit of a dreary day, but the other day it was beautiful. The kids love riding their powerwheels...Carson is SUPER FAST and super cool with his shirt off! Kennedy is Miss Hollywood in her cool pink Cinderella sunglasses!!

By the way, I just updated "Our Adoption Story". When you have some time, check it out. As I was writing, it brought back so many emotions and memories of what we've been through in order to have a family. I'm so thankful for every step in this journey and wouldn't change it for anything!

Jennisa got ahold of my blog!!

Check out the new blog!!! I love it! Jennisa at Once Upon a Blog designed everything for me. She is so good and so fast. Once it was my turn on her wait list, it took about 48 hours for her to design both my family blog and my Hide and Seek Boutique blog and then to install it. She is very talented!

I will be busy this weekend updating each of the links...especially on my Hide and Seek Boutique blog. I'll have all of my products and fabrics available online now, which I'm so excited about! Keep checking back over the next few days and hopefully I will have the majority of it up.

Let me know what you think of the new design? Is it easy to navigate through? Keep in mind, I'll be adding a ton of content over the next few days!!

Happy Friday!

Still not 100%

Well, the kids are still not feeling completely better. Carson woke up last night at 3:00 with a fever and a cough and Kennedy is still coughing. So, today we're lounging...again. I'm a little tired of lounging and I never thought I'd say that! Here's a little pic of these sweet kiddos loving on eachother and watching Charlotte's Web. Love these 2 little guys...especially Kennedy's crazy morning hair!!

Not a Hamburger Helper Kinda Night

Tonight, Chad fixed dinner fit for a king! Yes, Chad fixed the whole dinner all by himself and it was more than delicious...whatever that word may be, maybe scrumptious, or delectable or heavenly. Anyway, he went to Whole Foods and got everything he needed, all fresh and organic and yummy.

To start we had a tomato, fresh mozzarella and basil salad. It was topped with Greek seasoning, a smidge of olive oil and a touch of balsamic vinegar. It was so fresh and so cold! YUM YUM YUM!

Then for our main course, he grilled. And, oh did he grill! We had grilled yellow squash, ribeye steaks and grilled portobella mushrooms. The steaks were topped with melted gorgonzola cheese, finely chopped portobella mushrooms and a blackberry wine reduction. Hello?!? I had no idea he knew how to make a reduction, actually I had no idea how to make a reduction! Everything was so incredible!
We had so much food left over, we'll be eating this for days. Sorry to those of you who freak out about leftovers, but this was not going in the trash!

Thanks Chaddy P. for an awesome dinner. We were so stuffed, there was no room for dessert, we just had coffee instead!

Tomorrow of course is Easter and after mass, we'll be celebrating at my mom and dad's house. We're celebrating my bday at the same time too! This year I got to pick out my own cake with whatever I wanted on it, I haven't done that in years! So, I went to Merritt's, told them what I wanted, and here's what they came up with...

It's perfect, exactly what I wanted! Since we're going on a cruise for my bday I thought it'd be fun to do a tropical cake. Merritt's did a great job!

Happy Easter everyone!

Holy Thursday

This is an amazing video that encompasses everything about Holy Thursday. It shows Jesus washing the deciples feet, and it also shows Jesus and the Last Supper....the very beginning of the Eucharist. There are a lot of clips from The Passion of the Christ movie, so at times, the video is hard to watch; it's so real. It's hard to see Jesus in such an awful place and going through such horrible pain, but He did it all for us.

Easter Party

Do you remember having little parties at school? It seemed like we had a class party for every holiday and I loved it! Today the kids celebrated Easter in their classes. They had a party with juice and cookies and an Easter egg hunt. Actually, Carson got to celebrate and Kennedy had to stay home with me. (She's still getting over pnemonia.) She was not too happy about Bubby getting to go to school without her. Lori, my kids' godmother, picked up Carson today. When he got home, he brought with him a big bag full of Easter eggs and candy! He even brought one home for Kennedy. He made sure to hunt for eggs for his sister...so sweet! She was so excited! Her teachers even sent home a cookie and juice box for her from the party...she has such awesome teachers and the best big brother!

When they came in, they dumped their bags on the kitchen floor and started going through everything and taking a little taste of everything too...sugar high here we come!

It's a beautiful spring day here in OK...hope everyone is able to get outside and enjoy this weather!

Just a bad day...

Well we spent the whole night in the ER with Kennedy last night. I thought she was having an asthma attack, but it actually turned out to be pnemonia. We got there at 9:30pm and we finally got home about 2:45am. It was such a crazy night. She's sleeping right now and hopefully will take a long nap and feel well rested. She's back on breathing treatments, an oral steroid and an antibiotic. Will this ever end for her?!?

Right before we left for the ER last night, we found out our neighbor, Lloyd, had passed away earlier that day in his home. His son is thinking it was something sudden...maybe a heart attack. He was such a good man, probably in his 50's or 60's, very healthy, rode his bike everywhere and he was always outside working in his yard. It's so hard to believe that he is gone. He was so sweet to the kids and often bought them little gifts here and there. He gave them each an Easter basket last year, which was so sweet of him. Please keep him in your prayers today and his family as well.

To top it all off...it's my 30th birthday today. What a day for a birthday! If Kennedy is feeling ok this evening, then my mom is going to come over so Chad and I can go out to dinner. That will be a nice break for today! My real gift comes at the end of April...Chad and I are flying to Orlando and taking a cruise to the Bahamas for 4 days! I can't wait for that...

Carson's Art

Carson loves to draw and write lists (especially grocery lists). So, today he asked for some paper to draw a picture for Mrs. Craig (a family friend from church). He took a pen and just colored all over the paper.

Here's our conversation about the picture...

Mom: "Oh wow, Carson, that's a busy picture! What did you draw?"

Carson: "MO-OM" (that's a two syllable mom!) "It's a picture of your messy house."

Mom: "Are you kidding?"

Carson: "No and I'm giving it to Mrs. Craig!"

Mom: "I'll have you know that this house is S.P.O.T.L.E.S.S. today and the only messy room is your play room so ha!"

And, that was the end of our conversation. Luckily, Mrs. Craig has 5 kids...she'll understand!

Super Cute Easter Egg Candy

Check out this Easter candy I bought from PaperDoll Designs. They are the cutest little candies!

They are little Hershey's miniature candy bars wrapped in personalized paper! The writing on the wrapper reads "Happy Easter! Love, Carson & Kennedy Potter".

The kids have a little Easter egg hunt at their preschool every year. So, I'm going to put these little candies in each of the eggs that they bring for their hunt! I bought a bag of 30 candy bars, enough for each of their classes, for only $10...that's right only $10 personalized and everything! Go check out PaperDoll Designs website/blog at www.paperdolldesignsblog.blogspot,com. She has super cute stuff!
